1) [personal profile] liminal  is going through the same 30-Days meme that I am and, my word, the oddity and fantastic nature of this particular piece (for Day 9, from the working title "Roses are red, Violets are Dead") is just captivating.

2) [personal profile] samararaine  is crafting an utterly addicting series. It's visceral and you feel terrible and wonderful in turns for her protagonist while being intrigued and horrified by her situation in "Releasing the Demons" it is to a fourth part now, but I've linked the first below. Note: The story certainly has some triggery elements to it, all of which have been spelled out in the comments above the story header.

3) It's rare that I can say enough about the work of [personal profile] aldersprig . This particular story, also form the 30-Days meme (Day 10: Write a story around a musical instrument) is eerie and enthralling for its short length. It is filled with triggery Abduction/Slavery/Physical Abuse type elements and is just very well balanced and written. I can't recommend her work enough, and this piece is particularly good.

It was another thing all together to have one of the most powerful of the Dawning Court bring it up in assembly.

The plains seemed to stretch on until Judgement Day. Wyatt and Malcolm rode on in silence, their eyes scanning forward and back to see if they were being followed (or if there was a likely place to be ambushed, for that matter). It was odd; even the wildlife seemed to have deserted their path. They rode in silence for what seemed like days, though when Malcolm finally spoke, the sun had yet to completely set.

"Wyatt," he murmured, just loud enough to overcome the hooves of their mounts.

"Not a word out of you," his companion bit back angrily.
